In any case, you should consult the pool specialist who installed your pool, as they can assess the situation at your location. If the pool is completely shut down, a few preparatory steps for winterization are necessary, such as backwashing and emptying the filter systems, draining the pipes, and protecting the lights and access ladders against frost. Add a winterizing agent to the pool water to prevent the build-up of algae and scale. Depending on the model, close the roller shutter cover as well. At the end of the pool season, you should plan to spend about one day on winterization tasks. Alternatively, you can of course outsource the winterization work to your specialized pool contractor.
