How can energy loss from the pool be prevented?

First and foremost, the swimming pool cover should be mentioned again. A pool loses around 80 percent of its thermal energy through the water surface. The pool cover not only prevents this loss, but can also supply additional solar energy to the pool water.  

The remaining 20 percent of energy loss is mainly distributed across the pool walls and floor, as well as the entire piping system. Here, it makes sense to opt for a pool with efficient insulation of the walls and floor, as is the case with Riviera Pools: thanks to their sandwich construction, they achieve excellent insulation values. Additional backfilling of the pool with lightweight insulating concrete ensures that built-in components and pipes are completely insulated. Modern insulating backfills still have outstanding insulation values even in groundwater.
