Which equipment is now the right one for which swimming period?

Basically, we distinguish between three different periods of use:

The 6-month period from the beginning of May to the end of October
For use during this 6-month period, we recommend a pool with wall and floor insulation as well as a solar cover. Depending on the location of the pool and daily opening hours, an average water temperature between 26 and 37°C can be expected – without incurring separate energy costs.

The 9-month period from the beginning of March to the end of November
Anyone wishing to operate their pool economically during this period should choose backfilling with insulating lightweight concrete and also insulate their piping system with it. In addition, a heat pump or connection to a house heating system is necessary so that sufficient energy can be supplied to the pool. Solar power will not yet be sufficient during this period.

All-year use over 12 months
Here, the equipment specified for the 9-month period is a must. An "all-season heat pump" is required, which still has sufficient heat output even in sub-zero temperatures. In addition to the roller shutter cover, a sliding enclosure or protective roller cover is recommended, which creates an insulating air cushion on its underside down to the roller cover. If you want to save on electricity costs for the heat pump, there is the option of a photovoltaic installation on the house roof.
