When are overflow channels used?

Overflow channels are installed at the edge of the water level and are primarily used for water treatment – overflowing water is collected for cleaning and returned to the pool via nozzles. According to the DIN 19 643 regulation, overflow channels are mandatory for public swimming pools and whirlpools. Overflow channels have the advantage of minimizing wave formation, allowing you to swim laps without constantly feeling the reflection of the waves.

In the private sector, the overflow channel is increasingly used as a decorative element. For example, in the form of a panorama channel: a panorama channel is a lowered overflow channel that opens up the view of the horizon. Views of landscapes, lakes, or even the sea can thus be integrated into the pool's design concept.
