RivieraPool is starting the 2016 pool season with new hot tub models for indoor and outdoor use. The manufacturer presented the relaunch of its entire hot tub range at Aquanale 2015 in Cologne.

Straightforward, purist design, high-tech materials and new functionalities: RivieraPool completely redesigned its whirlpool range last year. Three new models are available as built-in versions for indoor use and as portable spas for outdoor areas.

"Wave", "Strato 2.0" and "Strato 2.3" – these are the names of the new whirlpools from RivieraPool. "We have completely revised the design and functionalities of our whirlpools and tailored them to current trends in outdoor living," explains Uwe Rengers, Marketing Director at RivieraPool. The curved, soft  shapes of previous models have given way – the new models present themselves with a straightforward and purist design. Their square shape integrates perfectly into modern living areas – as does the choice of materials.

The hardtop cover becomes a daybed
Garden and living areas are merging more and more. Fabrics, materials and decorative elements from the interior are finding their way into the "green living room". This is also reflected in a special development for the whirlpool models, which sets new standards in appearance and functionality: The hardtop becomes a daybed.

The challenge was to develop a suitable for daily use,  weatherproof and winterproof cover for the WP, which at the same time insulates, protects and represents a chic, padded sunbathing area. In addition, the daybed had to be so light that it can be opened and closed with ease, without complex cover lifter constructions. The cover should be easy to remove and slide. This has now been achieved through the combination of lightweight panels with open-pored seat cushion foam and a fabric-like outdoor vinyl material. This keeps the elements light, easy to open and yet resilient enough for two people using the daybed.

Weatherproof Resysta cladding
RivieraPool also relies on new materials for the cladding of the whirlpools: Especially for portable spas used outdoors, the manufacturer offers cladding with Resysta panels. The material, which has long been used in architecture, ship building and furniture design, consists of a special blend of rice husks and polymers. Since water cannot penetrate the material, it is predestined for outdoor and wet area applications. Resysta panels are available in a wide range of colors with a chic wood look. "Since Resysta is also frequently used in facade construction or for pool or terrace decks, the whirlpool appearance can be precisely coordinated with this design," explains Uwe Rengers, outlining the holistic design aspect of this development. The entire pool technology is hidden under the removable panels and is easily accessible at all times. Optimum insulation of the entire technical room is ensured by high-tech polyurethane insulation panels. The waste heat from the pumps is used to heat the bath water.

For private and public users
The Wave model is available as a skimmer pool for fixed installation, as a portable spa or with an overflow gutter as "Wave Highline". This makes Wave suitable for the requirements of private wellness areas as well as for public use in hotels and sports centers. The whirlpool is equipped with four massage seats.  The arrangement of the different massage jets is designed according to an 8-step program and is geared towards a 20-minute hydrotherapeutic whirlpool massage. "The positive health benefits of water, heat and whirlpool systems have long been proven," explains Managing Director Guido Rengers, "so that a whirlpool bath is highly justified, especially for widespread ailments such as back and neck pain."

The new RivieraSpas are available in the following sizes:

  • Wave "Highline" as a built-in version in 255 x 255 cm and in 195 x 220 cm as a skimmer pool, as a portable spa in 250 x 250 cm

  • Strato 2.0 as a compact built-in version in 194 cm x 194 cm and portable spa in 211 cm x 211 cm

  • Strato 2.3 as a generously spacious built-in whirlpool in 230 cm x 230 cm and portable spa with 250 cm x 250 cm

"When we imported the first whirlpools from America in the seventies and went into production ourselves shortly afterwards, we made a key contribution to making the whirlpool socially acceptable in Germany," recalls Guido Rengers. "Even though the European whirlpool market is currently highly competitive, we want to continue to convince people with our 'Made in Germany' quality and innovative ideas. The wellness trend remains unbroken and the health benefits of regular whirlpool use are undisputed," Guido Rengers explains the background to the whirlpool relaunch.
