By special transport from Dalum to the Salzburg region

The largest one-piece swimming pool built by RivieraPool to date leaves the factory

Geeste/Dalum, 7 November 2014 – A special transport with an extraordinary load set off in the night of 4 November from Dalum via the motorway toward the Salzburg region: The swimming pool manufacturer RivieraPool from Geeste/Dalum sent its largest swimming pool ever built on a journey to its future owner, where it arrived after three days of travel. The 20-metre-long pool is unique in form, function  and equipment – and further proof that the expertise of the company from Emsland is now in demand all over Europe.

"In the whole of Europe there are only a handful of manufacturers who can make a plastic swimming pool of this size individually to customer specifications", project manager Matthias Rosemeyer sums up RivieraPool's position in this market segment. Decisive for the Emsland native's know-how is not least their many years of experience, because the company has been building prefabricated swimming pools for 50 years now and whirlpools for almost 40 years.

On trend: individual XXL swimming pools

For the series-manufactured swimming pools from RivieraPool there are fixed shapes and sizes. Here too, large swimming pools consisting of several segments can be implemented. The growing market demand for individually designed  shapes prompted RivieraPool years ago to establish its own  department dealing exclusively with these special projects – RivieraIndividual. Since then, swimming pools, whirlpools and special objects for private and public customers have been manufactured in this manufactory. Order processing is also more individual, precisely as a pure contract business. Customers and architects work much more closely together than in the otherwise customary series business.

"With the unique piece now manufactured, our private client's architect planned a swimming landscape into the architectural concept of the house and the garden from the outset and specified relevant key points such as size and shape," Rosemeyer summarises. "One requirement, for example, was that the pool should be built into a slope and a 20-metre-long acrylic glass pane on the sloping longitudinal side would open up the view of the valley, whereby the water should overflow via the pane. We succeeded  in implementing all of the customer's wishes. We deliver everything from a single source."

The swimming pool is equipped with a powerful counter-current system, various massage attractions as well as a separate relaxation area with air bubble loungers. The actual swimming pool is six metres wide, and the integrated relaxation area extends the pool to eight metres in the rear. An automatically extending cover not only protects the pool from leaves and dirt, but also supports sustainable heating of the pool through integrated solar elements.

For three nights, the special transport was on the road accompanied by the police. The logistics required meticulous planning because, with the six-metre-wide load, the lorry could only target two-lane lanes  – single-lane construction sites had to be bypassed along the entire route between Dalum and the Salzburg region. At the future owner's property, a mobile crane was already waiting to manoeuvre the 8.5-tonne pool about 30 metres further to its actual destination.

The final assembly of the technology takes place on site. Afterwards, the swimming pool will be completely tiled with glass mosaic – for this work step, an elaborate  tent construction is erected over the pool to protect it from moisture, dust and cold. The first swims in the new swimming pool would – theoretically – be possible by Christmas. In March, the first talks took place between the architects and RivieraPool. So that's how quickly it can come true, the dream of having your own pool!
