Milestones of the Rengers Group

1964: Gisela and Josef Rengers start their own business manufacturing plastic products for agriculture. They found "Rengers Kunststoffe". The first products are milk can wash troughs for cleaning milk cans, feed carts in various sizes, as well as rectangular ice water cooling basins for cooling milk cans.

1970: Josef Rengers produces the first one-piece polyester swimming pools, thereby filling a gap in the market.

1973: The first advertising brochure is published. "Frost-resistant, seamlessly waterproof and ready for installation within a very short time" – these are the product advantages of the GRP pools.

1974: Expansion of the sales network: RivieraPool begins cooperating with wholesalers.

1976: Expansion of operations and founding of RivieraPool Fertigschwimmbad GmbH. Gisela Rengers contributes to the development of the "Guideline for the Manufacture of Polyester Pools".

1976: The Rengers family founds the company RivieraPool Middle East in the United Arab Emirates to produce swimming pools and whirlpools.

1977: Josef Rengers imports the first whirlpools from America. The special feature: They are made of acrylic glass.

1978: RivieraPool launches the first swimming pool with entry steps.

1979: Entry into whirlpool production: Josef Rengers and the American Berni Burba sign a licensing agreement for the manufacture of whirlpools in Dalum. RivieraPool presents its products at the ISH in Frankfurt for the first time.

1983: Sale of the RivieraPool Middle East company and reinvestment of the proceeds in production in Dalum. The WP production is expanded by a second thermoforming machine, and the halls for final assembly and warehouses are enlarged.

1985: Establishment of the export department.

1986: RivieraPool launches the Multilong system with variable grid lengths of 25 cm.  

1993:  Establishment of a second production site in the Slovakian city of Trnava. Today, Reku Slovakia spol. S. ro, with around 70 employees, produces prefabricated swimming pools and whirlpools for the Western and Eastern European markets.

1993: The second generation of the Rengers family takes over responsibility for the company: Peter Rengers takes over the management of Rengers Kunststoffe, Guido Rengers becomes managing director of RivieraPool in 1994. Uwe Rengers has been heading the marketing department since 1989. They push ahead with the development of system swimming pools: From various sizes, colors, staircase systems, functionalities such as counter-current systems, massage jets and whirlpool devices, roller covers, and lighting concepts, an individual pool can be assembled – with system!  

1993: RivieraPool produces the first swimming pool with an overflow channel. With this, the company offers pools for the public sector for the first time.

1997: RivieraPool builds the first freeform pool for a hotel: a unique specimen in design and equipment.

2003: Construction of a new 1900 sqm exhibition center for swimming pools, sauna plunge pools, and whirlpools on Klöcknerstraße in Dalum.

2012: RivieraPool opens the new Poolsplace exhibition on the Weber-Haus premises in Rheinau-Linx, a joint exhibition with other pool manufacturers. Further pool exhibitions follow: Today, RivieraPools can be seen in eleven exhibitions across Germany. 

2013: RivieraPool presents a new shallow-water zone concept at Aquanale with the WetLounge.

2014: 50th anniversary of the Rengers Group of Companies. A 20-meter pool is delivered by special transport: the largest one-piece swimming pool built in the company's history to date.  

2015: RivieraPool launches the mosaic pool MLine and relaunches its whirlpool range.

2016: Opening of the RivieraPoolGarten in the Taufkirchener Hofquartier near Munich. RivieraPool develops a new product line with the C-Side Minipools.
