A whole swimming pool floats into its new place.

An entire swimming pool floated yesterday into its new place at the construction site of the new building of Hotel Kolb. At the corner of Vogtpad / Kiebitzweg, in direct neighborhood to the hotel and the island chalets, the Langeoog construction company Schreiber is building an extension which, among other things, will include a large wellness area with swimming pool, as well as additional rooms and suites.

For island carrier Jan-Martin Janssen and his crane FUCHS, it only became temporarily tight on the access road to the construction site.

But with great skill he ducked under a tree with the boom. Moving the swimming pool from the trailer into the new cellar was then routine. With centimeter precision, he placed the pool on the prepared wooden structure.

The swimming pool is not yet being lowered into the recess of the foundation slab, as there are plans to flood the cellar after completion until it is finished. This is common when building in groundwater in order to shorten the period of groundwater lowering and prevent the cellar from floating. The water is then pumped out and the swimming pool is lowered into its final position.
